State releases Harvard’s 2012 MCAS results

September 20, 2012

The state Department of Elementary and Secondary Education Wednesday released the 2012 Massachusetts Comprehensive Assessment System (MCAS) test results.

Harvard’s 2012 MCAS results can be viewed on the state’s website. For comparison, here are the results from 2011.

Same as last year, Harvard schools performed well above the statewide percentages in every testing category. On the tenth grade English and Language Arts test, 100 percent of Harvard test-takers scored “proficient” or higher.

Harvard’s lowest results were on the fourth-grade mathematics test and the eighth-grade science and technology/engineering test; in both, 72 percent of test-takers scored “proficient” or higher. Those were two of the lowest performing categories statewide as well.
