At 2:28 a.m., police investigated a suspicious vehicle parked near the intersection of Still River and Still River Depot roads. The occupants of the car had pulled over to watch a train go by, according to police. At 3:33 p.m., police investigated a report of a breaking and entering and burglary at a home on Lovers Lane. According to police, the burglar broke in through the front door and took about $350 worth of jewelry. The case is under investigation, police say. At 8:05 p.m., a woman from Shirley called police to ask them to check on the Warren Avenue house of her ex-husband. Her daughter was there doing some cleaning, the woman said, and was not answering the phone. Police said they made contact with the caller’s daughter and everything was ok.
Wednesday, Sept. 19
At 2:42 a.m., police investigated a car parked in an Ayer Road parking lot. The occupants of the car were a husband and wife who were sleeping after dropping someone off at Logan Airport, police report. At 6:17 p.m., a Harvard woman asked for an officer to call her ex-husband and tell him to stop calling her. Police said they referred the call to Maynard Police.
Thursday, Sept. 20
At 1:27 a.m., police responded to a report of a suspicious motor vehicle on Ayer Road and, as a result, arrested Erik D. Mitchell, 27, of Oak Hill Road, Harvard, for operating under the influence of alcohol and operating to endanger. Mitchell had driven his car off the road, police say. The car had to be towed away, according to the police report. No further information was available on the incident. At 5:55 p.m., a West Bare Hill Road woman reported to police a case of wire fraud and an email scam. The woman told police she had made contact with a man on a Christian dating website and the man claimed he was a U.S. military member serving overseas. After a few weeks of online communication, the woman told police, she sent the man a package of chocolates, and he requested she wire $150 to a third party to help the package clear customs. The woman did so, she told police. The man then said he wanted to send the woman some items for safekeeping. He asked that she wire $1,850 to a third party in Ghana to overcome some customs obstacles. Again, the woman sent the money. However, after then receiving some documents that “appeared to be odd,” police say, the woman reported the case to the Western Union fraud division, which refunded her money and requested she file a report with the local police.
Friday, Sept. 21
At 8:32 p.m., police responded to a report of a suspicious motor vehicle parked at the end of a cul-de-sac on Glenview Drive. An officer spoke to the driver, who went on his way, police say. At 9:06 p.m., police investigated a vehicle parked at the overlook on Prospect Hill Road after dark. Police sent the driver on his way.
Saturday, Sept. 22
At 12:55 p.m., police received a report of someone looking into the windows of a home on Warren Avenue. The person was a local real estate agent, police say. At 3:59 p.m., someone turned over to the police station a black Samsung Verizon cellphone found on a rock near the fire pond on Ann Lees Road. The battery was dead.
Sunday, Sept. 23
At 6:21 p.m., police reunited a lost dog with its owner. Someone had found the dog near the intersection of Still River and Under Pin Hill roads and brought it to the police station. At 9:45 p.m., a resident of Old Littleton Road who had been away reported she had come home to find the lights on and flashing in a car in her driveway. The woman told police her cat sitter had told her the lights in the car had not been flashing the day before. Police checked the home, but report finding nothing else out of the ordinary.
Monday, Sept. 24
At 2:46 p.m., a caller from Colorado Springs, Colo., called police to inquire about a private investigator. At 7 p.m., a resident of Simon Atherton Row brought some firearms to the police station for safekeeping. At 9:03 p.m., police investigated a report of a suspicious black SUV parked near the intersection of Blanchard and Lancaster County roads. The driver of the vehicle was not around, police report. Later, a man came to the police station to report he had been jogging in the area and he had spotted, from a distance, police looking at his vehicle.
