Jordan wins country music awards

On June 24, singer/songwriter/musician Ashley Jordan, of Harvard, received five awards in the 17-20 age category at the New England Country Music Awards: CD of the Year (New Country), for “Liquid Words”; Songwriter of the Year (New Country), for the song “Don’t Mess with a Songwriter”; Most Promising Song (New Country), for the song “Liquid Words”; Horizon Award (New Country) Female Vocalist; and Rising Star (New Country) Female Entertainer.

On July 8, at a benefit performance for diabetes in Fall River, Don Hooper of Juke Village Records made a surprise appearance and presented Jordan with an award for “2011 Artist of the Year” for Juke Village Records.
