Registered nurse; spent summers on Bare Hill Pond

Florence E. (Anderson) Ingman, 92, died Wednesday, Aug. 8, in Sterling Village in Sterling.

Her husband, John W. Ingman, died in 1994. She leaves two children, John R. Ingman of Leominster, and Judith I. Tapply, of Bonita Springs, Fla.; two grandchildren, Kristen and Bethany; two great-grandchildren, Johnna and Emilee, and nieces and nephews. A sister, Inez Johnson of West Rutland, Vt., predeceased her.

She was born in Hartford, Conn., daughter of Sigfred and Jennie V. (Olson) Anderson and was raised in West Rutland, Vt. She later moved to Worcester and graduated from the former Hahnemann Hospital School of Nursing.

Florence was a registered nurse at various hospitals in Worcester and also did private duty care; prior to that she worked at the Rutland Hospital. She was a longtime member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church and active in many clubs and groups in the church. Florence also enjoyed square dancing with her husband, long nature walks and cross country skiing.

She was a strong advocate for animals and nature and spent 48 summers at her cottage on Bare Hill Pond in Harvard.

Funeral Services are private. A private memorial service will be held at a later date for the family. Memorial contributions in Florence’s name may be made to The Second Chance Fund, P.O. Box 118, Bolton, MA 01740.
