Harvard man charged with indecent assault

Trail Ridge Way resident Ashley Justin Hoisington is facing four charges of indecent assault and battery on a person 14 or over. According to court documents, a Lancaster resident told police Hoisington, 32, assaulted her at his home, 1C Trail Ridge Way, on Feb. 18. The young woman reported the incident to Lancaster Police on Feb. 21 and that department brought the case to Harvard Police, the court documents say.

Hoisington was arraigned in Clinton District Court on June 15 and released on the condition that he stay away from the young woman who is making the accusation and the places she frequents. He is also not to contact her by phone, text, email, or social media outlets, the court instructed him.

In a narrative report submitted to the court by Harvard Police Officer Daniele Fortunato, the young woman from Lancaster said she was visiting Hoisington at his home with members of her family on Feb. 18. She went for a walk with her family members in a nearby conservation area, but returned before the others, the report says. It was then that Hoisington assaulted her, the report says. According to the narrative report, the assault continued for about 20 minutes, ending when the young woman’s family returned from their walk.

In her report, Fortunato wrote that Hoisington had propositioned the young woman via Facebook within two days of the reported incident. The young woman ignored the propositions or told Hoisington she “could not do that,” Fortunato wrote. Hoisington also offered to buy the young woman a car and cell phone, which she refused, according to the report.

Officials have so far been unable to recover the Facebook exchanges between Hoisington and the young woman, Fortunato wrote in her report. It appears he has deleted his account, Fortunato wrote. Facebook has refused to turn over the information and is insisting on a search warrant, she wrote.

Hoisington is next scheduled to appear in Clinton District Court for a pre-trial hearing on July 27.
