With the academic year near completion, we would be remiss to not acknowledge the enormous contribution made by Fanfare to the Harvard music program.
Over the last several years, Fanfare has funded piano tunings, rhythm instruments, xylophones, and a superior stereo sound system in the elementary school. In the middle and high schools, Fanfare has funded a drum set, choral folders, and spacious instrument storage lockers. Fanfare has sponsored curriculum enrichment programs at the Bromfield School, including a recent seminar in jazz improvisation where a Fanfare member shared his own musical expertise with students. Fanfare has funded accompanists, organized receptions after major concerts, produced in-home fundraising concerts attracting top performers to Harvard, and sponsored an annual scholarship to our graduating class.
In sum, Fanfare has been invaluable to the music program and music culture in Harvard, and we are greatly indebted to them.
