At 11:27 a.m., a man asked to speak to police about a possible case of illegal dumping at a conservation area on Old Littleton Road. Police say the material the man was reporting was compost and was supposed to be there. At 2:22 p.m., police arrested Drew P. Hickok, 23, of 78 East Bare Hill Road for being a fugitive from justice. According to police, Hickok was being sought on a warrant out of Colorado on charges of racketeering, conspiracy, conspiracy to sell or distribute marijuana, and distributing marijuana. The charges resulted from a postal investigation, police say. Police say they called Hickok and asked him to come the station, where he was arrested. He was arraigned on the fugitive from justice charge in Clinton District Court and faces extradition to Colorado.
Wednesday, June 6
At 7:44 a.m., police investigated a motor vehicle accident on Pinnacle Road, where a car had run into a utility pole, snapping the pole. The driver, the only one in the car, suffered only minor scratches and the car had to be towed, police say. Police issued the driver a written warning for failure to stay in the lane. The utility companies were called to repair the pole. At 4:58 p.m., the police dispatcher received a recorded message about an elevator problem at the Congregational Church on Still River Road. Police referred the call to the fire department. There are no reports that anyone was stuck in the elevator. At 10:20 p.m., police responded to a report of a suspicious car parked at a house under construction there. Two people in the car were involved in amorous behavior, police say. Police sent the people on their way.
Thursday, June 7
At 1:55 a.m., an officer checked out a building on Lancaster County Road after spotting an amber light flashing inside. Everything was OK, the officer reported. At 4:14 a.m., Ayer Police told Harvard Police they had received a report of two intoxicated men getting into a van at the Mobil station there and driving towards Harvard. Police say they stopped a van matching that description driving south on Ayer Road near Route 2 and arrested the driver, Jonathan Lagreze, 29, of 63 Barry Lane, South Dennis, for operating under the influence of alcohol and marked lanes violation. Lagreze failed a field sobriety test, police say. He was released on bail later that morning. At 12:52 p.m., police received a report of a street sign knocked down at the intersection of East Bare Hill and Brown roads. The highway department reset the sign. At 12:54 p.m., someone brought to the police station a “no right turns” traffic sign found near Myrick Lane. At 1:16 p.m., a resident of Old Littleton Road asked to speak to an officer for advice about how to deal with annoying phone calls.
Friday, June 8
At 9:42 a.m., police received a report of an animal carcass in Prospect Hill Road. The Department of Public Works was contacted to remove it. At 5:24 p.m., police helped the State Police at the scene of a car accident on Route 2 westbound. At 10:11 p.m., police received complaints about a noisy underage drinking party at a home on Bolton Road. Police spoke to the people at the home and report a teenager’s birthday party was going on there, but it was not too loud, parents were present, and there was no underage drinking going on.
Saturday, June 9
At 9:47 a.m., police received complaints about protestors on the town land next to the General Store on Still River Road. Police say the protestors were within their constitutional rights to protest there as long as they weren’t blocking traffic. At 6:36 p.m., after receiving a complaint they were blocking traffic, police spoke to a group of eight skateboarders on Old School House Road. The skateboarders agreed to move to a less busy road. At 8:04 p.m., police received a report of an elderly man looking confused and carrying a sweater and books walking along Bolton Road. Police located the man and gave him a ride home.
Sunday, June 10
At 9:34 p.m., a resident of Lovers Lane reported hearing 13 gun shots come from the center of town. Police checked the area but found nothing out of the ordinary. At 9:50 p.m., an officer checking the Bromfield School on Massachusetts Avenue reported finding a door propped open and several doors open inside the school.
Monday, June 11
At 10:47 a.m., Bromfield School staff reported vandalism inside the school. Someone had broken the locks on two science room doors (at a cost of $250 each to replace) and stolen a fire extinguisher, police say. Although police discovered and closed several open doors the night before, they say the vandal or vandals may have already been hiding in the school or found another way in. This and several other recent cases of vandalism at the Bromfield School are under investigation. If caught, the vandal or vandals could face felony charges, police say. At 5:45 p.m., police responded to a home on Old Littleton Road for a report of an altercation. They arrested one man at the scene for domestic assault and battery. An ambulance responded to the scene but no one was taken to the hospital, police say. The man who was arrested was not offered bail.
