We are writing to clarify a misrepresentation of tuition at Evergreen Garden Playschool from the article “Harvard to offer full-day preschool,” published on May 18. The cost of Evergreen Garden that was quoted is the cost of our kindergarten program. Preschool programs at Evergreen Garden range in cost from $3,800 to $6,500, and we offer multiple discounts and some tuition assistance. Evergreen Garden is a play-based, Waldorf program, offering preschool and kindergarten for ages 2.9 to 7 years old, as well as parent-child programs. We emphasize developing imagination and intrinsic motivation to engage in play, work, and life. We help children develop fine motor and gross motor skills through play, organized artistic activities, and circle games. Year round, regardless of the weather, we spend much of our day outside, walking, playing, collecting outdoor treasures, and sometimes even sledding. The children observe and experience the natural seasonal rhythms of the year. We welcome you to visit and see what we have to offer.
We support Hildreth Elementary School and their effort to offer a full-day preschool program. At the same time, we want to make sure that our program is accurately represented to the community.
