On May 19, Alina Schmidt was awarded a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from the University of New England in Biddeford, Maine. She graduated as a member of the Sigma Sigma Phi Honor Society.
Schmidt, a 2001 Bromfield graduate, member of the Harvard Ambulance Service, and a recipient of the Bromfield Trustees Scholarship, will begin an emergency medicine residency at the Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center in Pennsylvania.
Schmidt earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Tufts University in 2005 and Master of Public Health degree from Boston University in 2008. Her parents, Joe Schmidt and Joanne Helhowski, live on Stow Road.
