Former Harvard resident, gardener
Patricia “Pat” Hunter Curtis, 74, formerly of Harvard, died Friday May 4, 2012, at the Atrium at Drum Hill in North Chelmsford after a long illness.
She was the wife of Jon Curtis of Harvard and was married first to Frank Postemski Jr. of Hampton, Conn.
Born in Holyoke, she was the daughter of the late John and Dorothy (Witt) Hunter. She grew up in Holyoke and graduated from Holyoke High School with the Class of 1955 and then when on to attend college.
Patricia worked as a cytologist in the area hospitals and was a homemaker, raising her four children. Besides her children, Pat’s passions were gardening and genealogy. Winning several gardening awards for her daylilies, she also completed an ancestors and descendants genealogy for both sides of her family that dates well before her ancestor, Thomas Clark, carpenter; immigrant 1623 on the “Anne” from England, mate on Mayflower.
Besides her husband, she is survived by two sons, Jonathan Clark Postemski of Florence, Vt., and Scott Jeffrey Curtis of Harvard; a daughter, Beth Witt Postemski, of Craig, Colo.; and three grandchildren, Hunter Postemski, Slade Postemski, and Jack Curtis.
She was predeceased by her son Randall Hunter Postemski, of Canterbury, Conn., who died Sept. 4, 2008, and her sister Abigail Clark Hunter of Somerset, N.J., who died May 25, 1986.
There are no visiting hours.
Private services will be held at a later date. Pat will be missed dearly by her friends and family.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Dolan Funeral Home.
