I am outraged that after living in town for over 30 years and, like most, paying thousands and thousands of dollars in taxes, there is no place at the pond to store my kayak.
With 120 boat racks and the Bromfield Acton-Boxborough crew team(s) dominating a good part of, and more and more of, the beach, I do not understand why seniors cannot be guaranteed a boat rack. As a group we are less likely to have a vehicle to transport our canoes/kayaks, have the physical prowess to lift or carry them or have a spouse to help. In addition, we possibly have a little more free time to enjoy them.
To guarantee boat racks for seniors is one small thing the Parks and Recreation Commission can do for the seniors of this town. If, and it is a big if, some of the seniors were able to build our own boat rack, I am wondering if a space would be made available and would the highway department put it in place.
