A sobering message on driving under the influence

May 25, 2012

A mock automobile accident was staged at Bromfield on May 18 to remind  students of the dangers of driving under the influence. A mock accident is conducted by the Fire Department and Ambulance Department every other year just before Bromfield’s prom and graduation.

Firefighters prepare to extricate the victim from the crashed car.

Firefighters Tony Shaw, Wally Shaw, and Chief Rick Sicard take the top off the vehicle.

EMTs and firefighters prepare to transfer victim Kaya Phillips to an ambulance as her classmates look on.

Guest speaker Mike Paganelli tells students about his multiple drunk-driving accidents, including one that left him burned more than 60% of his body and without an eye and a finger.

Students listen intently to Mike Paganelli’s tales of driving under the influence.
