I wish to endorse Lucy Wallace as a candidate for Selectman in the coming Harvard election. Lucy has already served well for four terms (12 years), earning re-election by the Harvard voters.
Lucy has also played a major role on several other Harvard town committees. I was fortunate to be part of the Affordable Housing Committee and witnessed first-hand her capacity to be well organized and well informed. Lucy feels that there is a real need for smaller homes that are affordable for citizens that need to downsize and for other people whose incomes are limited. Many of our older citizens have had to move away from their beloved homes when they could no longer manage to pay the taxes.
Among several areas of involvement, the Town Center Committee, the Hildreth House Committee, the Master Plan Steering Committee, and the Devens Reuse Committee have all had enrichment from Lucy’s dedication.
It has always been my pleasure to work with Lucy. She does extensive research and has remarkable listening skills that allow her to carefully consider the opinions that differ from her own. Establishing consensus has been her goal if that is at all possible. When fellow members of the committee were sometimes abusive, Lucy always maintained her dignity.
Lucy understands the dynamics of town government. Allow her to use her strengths to be a Selectman!
