Saint Patrick’s Day luncheon
On Thursday, March 15, the Council on Aging will have a corned beef and cabbage luncheon with potatoes, onions, and Irish soda bread. This will fill up fast, the COA says, so call to sign up.
Adventures of Smiling
On Tuesday, March 27, at 11 a.m., Diana Baer will offer a presentation on the value of positive thinking and how it affects our health and healing. Stay for a beef stew lunch. Call 978-456-4120 to sign up.
On the road with COA

- Friday, March 16. Plan ahead for spring and flowers as the Council on Aging travels to Boston for the annual Boston Flower and Garden Show. Leave behind the gray days of winter and explore the show for tips and ideas on adding the “wow factor” to your garden. The group will leave at 9 a.m. and return by 3 p.m. The trip will cost $30. Lunch is extra.
- Monday, March 26. The Council on Aging will visit the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum in Boston. The group will have lunch first at Maggiano’s Little Italy restaurant, where the décor, service, and enormous portions will make you feel you are visiting a real Italian eatery. Next, the group will visit the museum’s three floors of galleries, filled with paintings, sculptures, tapestries, furniture, and decorative arts and the garden courtyard. Cost of the trip is $25. The group will leave the Hildreth House at 10:30 a.m. and return by 4 p.m.
