Sticker shock

To the dump…to the dump…I went!

Got my dump sticker when issued. As an elder citizen, it was free. To me. No charge. Wonderful! About a month later, the car my dump sticker was on bought the farm. Gone.

I went back to Town Hall. Now it cost $15 for a dump sticker to put on my new car!

Not happy with the newest car. Brought it back.

Back to the Town Hall. Another $15!

They knew I had just gotten one to replace the one I got after I lost the first one and paid $15 for the second one. If I had had a piece of the dump sticker that was stuck to the bumper, I was told, I could get another at no cost!

I am talking about a piece of paper stuck to a bumper. Granted, it is a glossy and glued and printed piece of paper that sticks to a car’s bumper to allow egress to the Transfer Station, yes! But, it is not a piece of metal stamped by a lifer at a local prison. It is a piece of paper!

Now, I got one free. I paid for another for 15 smackers! I need another! I can now have one if I have a piece of one! Watch out for me near the dump! ooops! Transfer Station! And if you notice a little piece missing from your bumper…
