Sister of Harvard woman, tireless volunteer

Jennifer Jellis Burke, 65, of Lancaster, formerly of Holliston, died Nov. 25 from renal failure and complications of pancreatic cancer. She was the devoted mother of Nadia Lynn Burke; cherished daughter of the late Elizabeth D. Jellis and Arthur B. Jellis; beloved sister of Julie Anne Medjanis and her husband, Gus, of Harvard; Cassandra Werthman, of Shirley; Joshua C. Jellis and his partner Janet Curra, of Freeport, Maine; Susan J. Veligor and her husband, Vincent, of Portland, Maine; and fantastic aunt to Gabriel, Benjamin, Ashley, Emily, Zackary, Alexander, and Elizabeth.

Jennifer was an excellent cook, baker, candy maker, and homemaker. She was a Disney fanatic and enjoyed visiting Disneyworld multiple times with her daughter. She also enjoyed cruising the Caribbean.

She was a tireless worker and long-time member of the Holliston Newcomers Club. She also volunteered much time for the Parents for Music at Milford High School and prior to that, for the music program at the Holliston schools. She also enjoyed being a Girl Scout leader. A lifelong sufferer of kidney disease, she had great faith in the medical community.

Jennifer was a member of the Harvard Unitarian Universalist Church. A memorial service will be held there on Friday, Dec. 2, at 2 p.m.
