Harvard Conservation Trust to hold Annual Meeting

November 11, 2011

I would like to invite all members of the Harvard Conservation Trust and other interested parties to our Annual Meeting, next Wednesday, Nov. 16, at 7:30 p.m. to hear Russ Cohen, professional environmentalist and wild foods enthusiast, give a slide presentation featuring many wild edibles found in your own backyard. Due to the storm, our fall newsletter, which describes the event in more detail, has been delayed and may not be received by residents before next Wednesday’s event.

Russ is the author of numerous articles and his recent foraging book, “Wild Plants I Have Known…and Eaten,” is now in its third printing. Russ takes stock in his harvests and dinner preparations using his yield. Several of his recipes have even appeared on PBS’s “Victory Garden.”

Attendees are invited to stay afterwards to enjoy the traditional offerings of gingerbread & cider.

The talk will be held at the Harvard Historical Society, 215 Still River Road, and is free and open to the public.

Won’t you join us?

Marylynn Gentry
Executive Director, Harvard Conservation Trust
