Thanks to more than a dozen volunteers, Senator Jamie Eldridge, and the staff members of New England Breeze Solar (NEB), Knollwood Energy, and the Massachusetts Clean Energy Center for making Saturday’s Solarize Now event successful. Three raffles, cider donuts from Westward Orchards and apple cider from Carlson Orchards helped draw people to Solarize Now. During the event, NEB scheduled 15 site visits and signed four contracts to install solar photovoltaic systems at Harvard homes and businesses.
In the 12 weeks since Harvard began working with NEB and Mass CEC on Solarize Massachusetts, your friends and neighbors have committed to installing 154 kilowatts of solar photovoltaic capacity in Harvard—very impressive! This means our community is 47 kilowatts away from achieving Tier 3 pricing that would save everyone an additional $0.50 per watt of solar system capacity—over $1,500 on a typical solar system.
The Sept. 30 program deadline is looming. Don’t wait until the last minute if you wish to solarize. NEB needs at least two days to prepare your contract for signing.
If you have a proposal from NEB and want to install a solar photovoltaic system to reduce your electric bills and help Harvard achieve Tier 3 pricing, you need to sign your contract by Sept. 30.
