The volunteers and the efforts of New England Breeze, the Solarize Massachusetts program in Harvard continues to attract people to sign up to install solar photovoltaic systems at their homes and business. Thanks go to the enthusiastic volunteers at the Farmers’ Market on Saturday; with their help 30 more households expressed interest in solarizing. With these additions, a total of over 350 households have expressed interest in the solar PV.
The Solarize Massachusetts program is scheduled to end Sept. 30 in Harvard. This means you must have signed a contract to install solar PV by Sept. 30 to realize program pricing and receive guaranteed access to state grants that reduce the cost of your system. To provide time to create a proposal and for you to consider your proposal, Sept. 16 is the deadline for having a site visit.
The Massachusetts Clean Energy Center, the sponsor of Solarize Massachusetts, continues to demonstrate their enthusiasm and support for the program. They have created two raffles to encourage program participation. People that sign a contract before noon on Sept. 10 will be entered into a raffle for an additional $500 in state grants for their systems. There is another raffle for $500 in grants for people that have not received a proposal but have had a site visit or sign up before noon on Sept. 10 for a site visit.
To provide residents and business owners in Harvard another opportunity to learn more about solar PV, Solarize Massachusetts Harvard volunteers and representatives from the Massachusetts Clean Energy Center will be at the Depot Road Soccer fields on Saturday, Sept. 10, from 8 a.m. through noon. In addition, New England Breeze will demonstrate a model solar home and an expert in solar renewable energy certificates (SRECs) will answer your questions.
