Town Administrator Tim Bragan and police Chief Ed Denmark held a public information session on a proposed regional dispatch plan on Monday, Aug. 1, to a virtually vacant Volunteers Hall and “got only one email question,” Bragan told Selectmen on Aug. 2.
He reported to the board that he had been in touch with town administrators in Lancaster and Lunenburg who were “looking favorably” at moving their town dispatch operations to the new Nashoba Valley Regional Emergency Communication Center.
Only the town of Shirley remains hesitant, waiting for a further conversation with Devens Fire chief Thomas Garrity later this month before committing to the move, Bragan said.
Harvard Selectmen are in favor of joining the project, according to Chair Marie Sobalvarro, and are waiting for the Inter-Municipal Agreement to be “tuned” to Harvard before voting to sign it at the Aug. 23 Selectmen meeting.
