The Harvard Farmers’ Market will open for the season Saturday, Aug. 13, from 9 a.m. to noon in front of the Hildreth Elementary School. BalletRox at Fruitlands
BalletRox will bring its urban-edged blend of dance styles to the outdoor Sundown Concert Wednesday, Aug. 17, at 7 p.m. at Fruitlands Museum. The young, Jamaica Plain-based dance company will perform “Peter and the Wolf,” Spanish flamenco, and excerpts from a ballet choreographed by artistic director Anthony Williams. Tickets purchased in advance are $12 for museum members and $15 for non-members. At the gate, tickets are $18 for members and $22 for non-members. Summer Reading Program Ends
The Harvard Public Library’s Summer Reading Program will end Thursday, Aug. 18, at 9 p.m., when summer reading prizes will be put away. Between Sept. 6 and Oct. 15, readers who have earned a bookplate by reading more than 30 hours by Aug. 18 may choose the book they want for their bookplates.
Family Movie Night
The Harvard Public Library will host a Family Movie Night, appropriate for all ages, Thursday, Aug. 18, at 6:30 p.m. in Volunteers Hall. Popcorn and water will be served—please preregister to help librarians plan.
Peach Festival
Carlson Orchards’ Ninth Annual Peach Festival, Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 20 and 21, will feature live music under the tent, hayrides to the peach orchard, and a cookout by the Harvard Lions Club at the 115 Oak Hill orchard from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. both days. Icon Museum Gallery Talks
The volunteer docents at the Museum of Russian Icons in Clinton will lead gallery talks Thursday evening at 5:30 p.m. through Sept. 1, with a different aspect of the museum’s collection featured each week.
