Provitola among Haverford College graduates

Haverford College has announced that Anna Blase Provitola, daughter of Blase W. Provitola of Harvard and Georgia L. Buckner, graduated magna cum laude during commencement ceremonies on Sunday, May 15. A graduate of Hanover High School and one of 299 members of Haverford’s Class of 2011, Provitola received a bachelor’s degree in comparative literature with a concentration in gender and sexuality studies and a minor in French.

Provitola was elected to the Haverford College Chapter of the Phi Beta Kappa Society. The title of her senior thesis was, “The Other Tongue of a Thousand tongues: Examining Cixous’s ‘Ecriture Féminine’ in Djebar’s L’Amour, la fantasia and El Saadawi’s Innocence of the Devil.”

While studying at Haverford, Provitola was involved in a variety of campus activities, which included an internship for Planned Parenthood in Philadelphia during the summer of 2010. Post-graduation, Provitola will participate in an internship in Paris, France, with Les Humanoïdes Associés, a French comic book publishing company.
