Teachers appreciate support

May 6, 2011

I doubt that the guests at Kate and Will’s wedding dined on a banquet more delicious than what the Hildreth Elementary staff enjoyed during Teacher Appreciation Week, thanks to the generous and talented Harvard PTO cooks, who treated us royally.

The buffet each day was stunning. It all began with a breakfast of mammoth proportions, including pancakes, sausages, eggs, oatmeal, bagels, muffins, cakes, donuts, dried fruit, fresh fruit, and juice. That sumptuous spread was followed the next day by platters of enormous, juicy-sweet chocolate-dipped strawberries and Carlson’s sparkling cider. The feast continued with a picnic of sandwich roll-ups, salad, chips, and desserts, followed the next day by a high tea with tea sandwiches, salads, and desserts, and ending on Friday with Chef Paul’s (who else?) homemade cookies and beverages.

The Harvard PTO tells us throughout the year—not just during this one week—how much they appreciate and support the teachers. On behalf of the HES staff, we thank Lisa Blair and the PTO for their thoughtfulness.
