Level 9 gymnast Natalie Saydah, a ninth-grader at Bromfield, competed in the USA Gymnastics National Eastern Championships in Worcester on May 7. The Eastern National Competition includes the top gymnasts from all states east of the Mississippi. She competed with six other members of the Region 6 Team, selected after finishing in the top six of her age group at the Regional Competition. Region 6 includes athletes from the New England States as well as New York. Natalie was also the Level 9 State Vault Champion.
Level 8 gymnast Emma Borton, an eighth-grader at Bromfield, recently won First Place All Around (AA) and was the balance beam and floor champion at her State Competition. This qualified her for the Massachusetts Super Team at the Regional 6 meet held in North Andover on April 30. In order to qualify for the Super Team, Emma had to have one of the top seven AA scores of all level 8 competitors, regardless of age. She represented her region well, placing second in AA and becoming the Region 6 Beam Champion.
