Thank-you to the 1,274 members of our community who voted last Tuesday. Your participation in the election on such a rainy and gloomy day was heartwarming. I am equally grateful for the support of many residents who cast their votes for me, and the dedicated team of folks who generously gave their time to work on my campaign.
I believe Harvard will always be facing “a challenging year ahead.” With the passage of the ballot question, the town will now obtain more refined cost estimates for renovating and addressing the municipal buildings in the center, in preparation for further decisions at next year’s Annual Town Meeting; the sewer building project should be commencing this summer; state aid will likely decline; and the town will be asked to weigh in again on the development of Vicksburg Square.
I’m happy to have this three-year opportunity to serve you; my ongoing interests are to work with my colleagues to keep financial sustainability in the foreground, to collaboratively create a proposal to aid seniors in addressing rising tax bills, and to proceed with a focus on openness, communication, and accountability.
