A big thank you to the Harvard Press and Jamie Allard for the article about Harvard Help and our need for more volunteers. This month’s schedule began with 14 empty slots, which is more than we’ve seen in several years. We’d like to add our own “pretty please” to the request for residents to help fill in the gaps, either as a regular (one day a month) or emergency (occasional) driver or answerer:
We are neighbors helping neighbors,
That’s what Harvard Help is for.
If you need a ride, just call us
And we’ll be there at your door.
For thirty-three years and counting
Harvard Help’s set us apart.
No other town can match us—
Harvard Help shows Harvard’s heart!
We have oh-so-grateful clients,
And we love just what we do,
But to keep this up for thirty more
We need to call on YOU!
Could you drive your car or answer
Just one day a month or less?
Harvard Help can last forever
If you will tell us “YES!”
