I would like to endorse Ron Ricci for another term as selectman. He is one of many volunteers in our town who work tirelessly and are under-appreciated. It is easy to assume that our town chugs along by itself, but in fact it requires a considerable amount of time and effort behind the scenes to make this happen. Ron has brought a tremendous amount of leadership to the table. Along with this, he has the ability to delegate to others and receive the information generated by others to make tough decisions.
As a member of the Municipal Affordable Housing Trust, Ron brings a wealth of skills, and as a result, we have a two-year moratorium against unfriendly 40B development in Harvard. He has also done an admirable job leading the charge on the town center sewer project. By finally putting a committee together of qualified volunteers, we will see a town center sewer. This is something previously elected officials could not seem to get off the ground after more than 10 years of tongue-wagging and considerable expense to the taxpayers.
I hope voters will consider carefully the candidates and realize that Ron Ricci is the wise choice.
