Wellesley College senior Serena Ryan, the daughter of Christopher Ryan and Lily Baddour of Myrick Lane, has been named a fellow of the Madeleine Korbel Albright Institute for Global Affairs, which prepares women for positions of global leadership.
Ryan’s participation in the institute will begin with an intensive course this month, when she will take lessons from various international relations and public policy experts, including former U.S. Secretary of State Albright. Albright, a member of the Wellesley College class of 1959, will serve as the institute’s distinguished visiting professor. This summer, Ryan will participate in a Wellesley-funded internship in the United States or abroad, applying what she has learned in a real-life setting.
Ryan, an environmental studies major, held an Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) National Network for Environmental Management Studies internship at the agency’s headquarters in Virginia last summer.
