Students at Applewild School in Fitchburg recently participated in the school-level portion of the National Geographic Bee sponsored by the National Geographic Society. Jamie Aciukewicz was a fifth-grade qualifier and the lower-school champion; his brother Aidan Aciukewicz was an eighth-grade qualifier, along with eighth-grader Nate Pappas.
Students who qualified in the classroom-level competition were then invited to participate in the school-level completion, to determine the school winner, who will complete a test to qualify for the state level of the bee.
