This year’s Parent-Teacher Organization Book Fair was a huge success. Many thanks go to all of the teachers, parents, and Harvard community members who gave of their time, energies, and dollars to make this happen. We grossed over $17,700 of which the PTO gets roughly 25 percent. Based on these sales, Scholastic awards us another $904 that can be used for books and other equipment for the Hildreth Elementary School library through Scholastic. Teacher Wish List donations put 285 books directly into the classrooms. We received $164 in the $1 for Books container which purchased books for the HES library and is matched by Scholastic with a donation of books to children in need. This year we added a donation box for Loaves & Fishes, into which people generously donated 42 books. In this time of belt-tightening, we greatly appreciate all your efforts to support reading in our schools.
