At 10:07 p.m. an officer on patrol stopped a man he observed acting suspiciously at the Little Rascals farm stand. The man will be issued a summons for attempted larceny. The ambulance transported a man to Emerson Hospital from a Shaker Road residence.
Wednesday, September 22
An officer on patrol at 1:15 p.m. made note of an unoccupied car parked at the bridge on Old Littleton Road. At 1:47 p.m. an officer stopped to investigate a car parked in front of a home on Blanchard Road and found it belonged to the homeowner. Police responded to the scene of a two-car accident on Ayer Road at 5:08 p.m. There were no injuries and no tow was required; a written warning was issued to one of the drivers. The ambulance transported one person to Nashoba Valley Medical Center from Pond Road at 5:39 p.m.
Thursday, September 23
An officer on patrol stopped to investigate a car he observed pulling off the road on Ayer Road at 1:57 a.m. He arrested the driver, 38-year-old Linda Lazur of Lebanon, Conn., for operating under the influence of alcohol, for an open container violation, and failure to signal. A male passenger was taken into protective custody. Someone walking on Slough Road at 8 a.m. called police to report seeing a Jeep parked in a neighbor’s driveway and a man at the door of the home. Police found that the man had been hired by the neighbor to install tile there. Police responded to the scene of an accident between a trash truck and a tractor-trailer truck at Ayer Road and Myrick Lane. There were no injuries and no citations issued. The tractor-trailer truck was towed.
Friday, September 24
A caller reported at 11:12 a.m. that a car that had been seen driving around the elementary school several times was back again. The car was gone when police arrived. A brush fire on Slough Road reported at 1:35 p.m. was extinguished by a passerby before fire officers arrived on the scene. At 6:40 p.m. a caller reported seeing someone going through a car parked at a business on Ayer Road. The person was gone when police arrived. Police contacted the owner, who said nothing appeared to be missing from the vehicle. An oven fire at a Bolton Road home, reported at 7:04 p.m., was extinguished by the time fire officers arrived on the scene.
Saturday, September 25
At 11:02 a.m. someone stopped at the station to report that while she and another person were riding horses on Ayer Road, a car passed by them without slowing down and that the driver had made an obscene gesture when she motioned for him to slow down. The horseback rider provided police with the car’s license plate number, and an officer contacted the driver and spoke to him about using caution around horses and advised him against making obscene gestures. At 3:41 p.m. a caller reported a youth hitchhiking on Littleton Road. Police located the young man, who said he had fallen off his bike and was on his way to a friend’s house. The officer called the youth’s mother to let her know what happened, and gave him a ride to his friend’s. At 4:55 p.m. a South Shaker Road resident reported that he had found a woman’s purse close to his house, which was at the end of a long driveway. Police took the purse and contacted the owner, who later stopped at the station to claim it. The woman, who was from out of town, did not offer an explanation about why her purse was found there. At 8:54 p.m. police responded to a report of a domestic incident at a Willow Road home and arrested a teenager on one count of assault and battery.
Sunday, September 26
A Warren Ave., resident called at 2:05 a.m. to report hearing people outside the home. Police checked the area but did not locate anyone. A woman stopped at the station at 10:36 a.m. to report that her keys were missing, and she suspected they may have been stolen.
Monday, September 27
Police were called to the scene of a single-car accident on Ayer Road at 11:44 a.m. There were no injuries and no citations issued. A tow truck was called to winch the car back onto the road. At 1:11 p.m. an Old Littleton Road resident called to report arriving home to find an unfamiliar vehicle in the driveway. The car was gone when police arrived. At 5:43 p.m. a caller reported that she had just pulled into a parking lot on Ayer Road, and another car had hit hers and taken off. There was minor damage to her car. Because she provided police with the license number, they were able to determine the name and address of the other driver, who will receive a citation in the mail. At 6:46 p.m. a woman reported there was a white sedan parked at the end of her driveway. Police found that the unoccupied car had a flat tire. An officer on patrol at 11:27 p.m. stopped to investigate a livery vehicle parked at Pinnacle and Old Littleton roads, and found that the driver had pulled over to check directions on a map.
