Bromfield tennis players now have a new backboard next to the court, thank to team member Matt Zimmer, who organized a group effort to build the backboard for his Eagle Scout project. Money for the project came in from the community, and construction began a month ago. Many Boy Scouts and tennis team members, along with Coach Carter, helped to hammer and paint. After three or four two-hour sessions, the project was completed.

In another Eagle Scout project, Josh Zimmer constructed an 85-foot raised walkway through a section of trails at Fruitlands that tends to get soggy in wet weather.
