A quick note of thanks to Bill Barton for his letter to the editor last week. Bill’s comments have served nicely for us as a “backhanded” press release announcing the formation of Common Ground Harvard. Since then Common Ground Harvard has been blessed with a huge number of hits on our website, for which we humbly say “thanks”. The attention has caught us a bit off guard, as we have only just begun to craft our website, but we remember the adage that any publicity is welcome, (though Bill spelled our name correctly he forgot our website: www.commongroundharvard.org).
Seriously, though, we at Common Ground Harvard categorically disagree with Bill’s characterization that Common Ground Harvard is nothing but an antidote for the Harvard Republican Committee. We started Common Ground Harvard to promote civil discourse regarding issues facing our town. We value a healthy exchange of ideas debated without extreme rhetoric and hyperbole. Common Ground Harvard believes our community benefits from civil discourse.
Common Ground Harvard invites friends and neighbors to visit our website. We look forward to hearing from you.
