The Harvard Firefighters Association will hold a fundraiser bike ride Saturday, Sept. 11, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The ride, which is planned to be an annual event, is a memorial for Ken Harrod, a longtime department member who passed away earlier this year.
There are three different rides to choose from: a 32-mile trek (two loops), a 16-mile loop, and a 2-mile ride for kids. Advance registration online is $25 (through Sept. 5), with discounts for families who sign up three or more riders. Registration on race day is $30. All proceeds benefit the Harvard Firefighters Association. Food will be provided by the Harvard Lions; there will be a silent auction as well.
