Harvard volunteers were honored for their time, friendship, and commitment to local seniors at the annual Minuteman Senior Services volunteer breakfast held last month. The event recognizes the importance of all volunteers for their contribution of hours or years of service to Minuteman seniors.
Sandra Lefkovits of Depot Road earned the Presidential Volunteer Service Award for her hours of service in 2009. The PVSA is a national honor offered in recognition of sustained volunteer service on an annual basis. Lefkovits received a bronze-level award for more than 100 hours of service as an ombudsman for long-term care residents.
Brown Road resident Sally Steele was honored for her year-long service at Minuteman Senior Services as a Commonwealth Corps volunteer assisting the home care and nutrition departments.
