Grateful for SAFE support

June 11, 2010

Members of the Harvard Fire Fighters Association’s Student Awareness of Fire Education (SAFE) Program would like to publicly thank the Harvard Schools Trust for its grant, which will provide support during this time of continued state budget cuts.

The SAFE program meets with every student from preschool through fifth grade and participates in other school- and community-based programs on an annual basis throughout the year. In this program students learn about fire and injury prevention, fire and life safety, the dangers of tobacco use and much, much more. The SAFE program operates on donations, fundraising, and volunteers to accomplish its mission. Our program has been recognized and awarded by the commonwealth of Massachusetts, Massachusetts Department of Fire Services, Liberty Mutual Insurance, and others, as a model for success in life safety education. We again thank the Harvard Schools Trusts for its support. If there are others who would like to support the SAFE program, they can contact me at 978-456-3103 for details.
