Six Harvard girls, all students at 360 Gymnastics in Shirley, earned top scores at recent USA Gymnastics State meets.
Bromfield sophomore Sarah Andrews became the state beam champion in Prep Superior; she placed fifth in vault and eighth all-around.
Hildreth Elementary School fifth-grader Maddie Steele was named Level 3 State Champion for her age group, with an all-around score of 37.625. She placed first on bars, with a 9.6; first on beam, with a 9.5; and second on floor, with a 9.35. Her classmate, HES fifth-grader Isabelle Lee, placed ninth, with an explosive vault that scored 9.1 at her Level 8 state meet.
HES fourth-grader Jessy Andrews was named Prep Novice State Champion for her age group with an all-around score of 37.025. She placed first on bars, with a 9.3; first on beam, with a 9.05; second on vault, with a 9.3; and second on floor, with a 9.375.
Sarah Moore, also a fourth-grader at HES, placed second all-around in her age group, with an all-around score of 36.525. She was named Floor State Champ in her age group, with a score of 9.55. She placed fifth on bars ,with a score of 8.75; second on beam, with a score of 9.0; and seventh on vault, with a score of 9.2. Sarah was 2009 state champion at the prep-rookie level last year in her age group.
Although HES fourth-grader Jenny Andrews did not place in the top third in her age group, she scored a “personal best” all-around at her Prep Novice Meet.
