On May 1, Mill Road resident Allyson Farren was presented with the Colonial Figure Skating Club’s 2010 President’s Award. This recognition is awarded each year to just one skater for outstanding achievements and valuable contributions to the Colonial Figure Skating Club in Boxborough. Farren was specifically recognized for her hard work, determination, and commitment to her Synchronized Skating team, the Colonials.
When not competing with her team, she spends long hours volunteering to help make the club’s largest synchro competition a success, helping her teammates on and off the ice, exhibiting team spirit and, as a team captain, giving rally speeches to her teammates at each competition. Farren has been a member of the Colonial Figure Skating Club since 2003. She is the daughter of Kris and Jack Farren and granddaughter of Toni and Jack Purdy of Littleton Road.
