I must tell you that I was truly overwhelmed by the wonderful tribute to my teaching career in last week’s Press. The kind words of those students past and present, as well as the notes I received from others who contacted me later, reminded me how lucky I am to have been able to work in such a supportive community for so many years. I thank all for expressions of friendship and encouragement. And to Mark Poutenis who sketched such a scary likeness—it is amazing how you encapsulated in one image so many milestones of my life.
