Harvard Ambulance Service seeks drivers
For those who wish they could help in an emergency in Harvard, but can’t commit to becoming an EMT, the Harvard Ambulance Service (HAS) offers an opportunity to become involved in the all-volunteer service: become an ambulance driver.
Candidates must be older than 18, have a good driving record, and be willing to become certified through training as a first responder, in CPR, and in driver training. Training takes place in Harvard. Anyone interested can contact Dave Cline, EMT and coordinator for driver training, through the HAS website, www.harvardems.org, or call 978-456-4110.
Benson and Flanagan hold utility forum
Representative Jen Benson and Senator Jennifer Flanagan are sponsoring a Be an Informed Utility Consumer forum on Monday, May 10, at 7 p.m. at Lunenburg Town Hall, in the second-floor conference room. The legislators will be joined by Assistant Attorney General Jed Nosal in the AG’s Telecommunications Division, and John DiNapoli, Unitil’s Municipal and Community Services manager.
Nosal and DiNapoli will make presentations explaining the different parts of a consumer’s utility bill and how utility rates are set. A Unitil Customer Service representative will also be on hand to take questions from audience members on issues with their bills.
