We have been getting a lot of questions about some upcoming events sponsored by the Friends of the Library and our subcommittee, the Friends of the Arts. So we thought we would get the word out now.
Friends of the Arts: Due to popular demand, we will be presenting the second annual Harvard Town Talent Show at Volunteers Hall Saturday, April 24. Details about auditions, times, and guidelines will be announced in March.
Meanwhile, bluesman Scott Ainslie will be in concert this Saturday, Jan. 30, at 7:30; admission is free. Be sure to watch for our second annual Old-Time Radio show on Feb. 27, when we will present “Notorious.”
Friends of the HPL: The town has graciously agreed to let us use the old library again for our annual Book Sale. Book collection will take place Saturday mornings from 9 to noon starting April 3. The sale will start Friday, May 7, (preview sale for members of the Friends only), through Sunday, May 9, and again on Saturday, May 15.
Information for all our events will be available at www.harvardpubliclibrary.org.
We thank all our wonderful volunteers and our donors for their support. All the proceeds we raise go to support the Harvard Public Library with museum passes, children’s programs, Friends of the Arts events, equipment, and more items not covered by the town budget. These funds are all the more precious in this current economic situation and they are truly appreciated.
Chris and Susan Frechette, co-presidents
