Scooters available

The COA has two motorized scooters available for loan to any senior who could make use of them. Call the office at 978-456-4120 for more information.


MART van offers shopping excursions

Starting Friday, Oct. 2, the MART van will make trips to the Market Basket and CVS in Leominster every Friday at 10 a.m. Seniors will have one hour to shop. The van will pick up and drop off shoppers at their homes. To sign up, call Town Hall at 978-456-4100.


On the road with COA

Call the Council on Aging office at 978-456-4120 for more information or to sign up for trips. Anyone who cannot afford a trip should contact the office about a scholarship.

  • Friday, Oct. 2: This trip to Boston includes lunch at the Venezia Waterfront Restaurant and a 45-minute tour of the Boston Winery. Lunch is included, for a total cost of $50.
  • Wednesday, Oct. 14: A visit to Flax Pond Cranberry Farm in Carver is in store for COA travelers on this trip. Participants will visit the farm’s bog and can try their hands at sorting fresh cranberries. Lunch, before the tour, will be at nearby Mama Mia’s. The tour will leave Hildreth House at 10 a.m. and return at 4:30 p.m. Cost is $5 plus lunch.
  • Thursday, Oct. 22: This COA trip features a visit to Boston’s Symphony Hall to hear an open rehearsal of an all-Beethoven concert led by conductor James Levine. Trip-goers will leave from Hildreth House at 8 a.m., take in a pre-concert lecture and the concert, stop for lunch, and return by 3:30 p.m. Cost is $22 plus lunch.
