Rivero to explain  when to use the emergency room

Karen Rivero, director of Visiting Angels, will present a program at Hildreth House Tuesday, June 23, on when a person should seek help from a hospital emergency room. The program will offer suggestions on how to get the most from doctor visits and what a patient can expect in the emergency room. Call to register.


Podiatry clinic to be held

Dr. Gregorian will hold a podiatry clinic at Hildreth House Tuesday, July 21. Appointments must be made in advance; call the Council on Aging (COA) to schedule. There will be a $25 charge payable to Dr. Gregorian at the time of the visit.


On the road with the COA

Call the Council on Aging office at 978-456-4120 to sign up for trips. Anyone who cannot afford to participate should contact the office about a scholarship.

Monday, June 29: A trip is being planned to Portsmouth, N.H. to visit the Moffatt-Ladd House and gardens and the Strawberry Banke Museum. Lunch will be at a restaurant along the waterfront. The trip will depart from Hildreth House at 8:45 a.m.; the group will return about 4:30 p.m. Cost is $20 plus lunch.

Transportation assistance is available

The COA MART van is available to provide transportation for Harvard’s seniors and residents who have disabilities. Senior who have medical appointments receive priority, but transportation is also available for people who must do errands such as grocery shopping, hair appointments, banking, exercise classes, and more. To schedule, call Town Hall, Monday through Thursday, at 978-456-4100.
