Bromfield students Nikki Snyder, a junior, and Laura Nocka, a senior, earned a first and second place, respectively, at the State Science & Engineering Fair at MIT Friday, May 1. More than 400 projects were represented at the fair, and awards included one grand prize, as well as several awards for first, second, third, and fourth places. Snyder won $1,000 for her project, “The Steam Distillation of Essential Oils.” Nocka was awarded $500 for her project, “Isolation of Bioactive Compounds from Soil Microbes.”
