The Bromfield girls track team won four events and set a meet record while finishing in a tie for third place at the Massachusetts State Track Coaches Association state relays in Abington Saturday, May 16. Competing against nearly 30 teams, Bromfield posted victories in the 4×1,600-meter relay, the 4×800-meter relay, and the 4×400-meter relay, and set the meet record in the distance medley relay.
Bromfield defeated second-place Hamilton-Wenham Regional High School by less than two seconds as senior Emily Reedich (running the 1,200 meters), sophomore Mimi Narbonne (400), sophomore Emma Rothkopf (800), and senior anchor Emily Jones (1,600) finished in 12:35.02.
In the 4×1,600, Jones, senior Kristina Kronauer, Rothkopf, and seventh-grader Alexia Lipman took the lead after the third lap and sailed to victory.
The 4×800 team, composed of sophomores Sydney Durand, Julia Alexander, and Margaret Kibbler, and freshman Alyssa Swindells, also dominated their event, finishing with a time of 10:03.67.
Senior Lexie Daniells led the team of sophomores Narbonne, Kim West, and Durand to victory in the 4×400, finishing in 4:13.33. A second Bromfield team, including Kibbler, Lipman, Reedich, and senior Maddie Darden, finished seventh.
