The Ayer, Devens, Harvard, Shirley Rotary Club supported Bromfield cross-country runner Emily Jones in her goal to send running shoes to Kenya for shoeless young children in Eldoret, Kenya. Over the past few months Emily collected more than 200 pairs of shoes and asked for help in the cost of sending the shoes to Kenya. Rotary clubs throughout the world support international projects and felt this project was most worthy of its support. Last Saturday, April 4, the Ayer, Devens, Harvard, Shirley Rotary Club met Emily at the Harvard post office and, with a donation of more than $1,500 for postage, shipped the shoes off to Kenya.
