Emily Jones competed in one of the most exciting races of the day at the Nike Indoor Nationals Track Championships at Boston’s Reggie Lewis Center Sunday, March 15. Top athletes from more than 30 schools across the country competed in the meet. Jones placed third in the indoor 2-mile, with a time of 10:25.76, her personal best, placing behind second-place winter Shelby Greany of New York, who ran in 10:24.11, and the winner, Jordan Hasay of California, who ran in 10:10.89. Going into the race Jones had posted the fastest indoor 2-mile time in the nation at 10:29.
Also competing in the meet was Bromfield’s 4×400-meter relay team, made up of Lexie Daniells, Kim West, Mimi Narbonne, and Katherine Finnegan. Because the Massachusetts Indoor season was officially over for the year they could not compete as Bromfield School athletes, so they ran in the meet as the Harvard Striders. The girls ran an excellent race and finished 23rd, with a time of 4:04.29.
