James Allen, son of Simon and Tina Allen of Sholan Circle, won eighth place in total points for the New England area at the USA Swimming 12 and Under Age Group Championships held in White River Junction, Vt., Feb. 19 to 22. He competed against the best times in the league for 13 races over the four-day competition, which was held at the new Upper Valley Aquatic Center during the February winter school break. He placed third in the 1,000 freestyle with a time of 11:42.66; placed third in the 200 butterfly with a time of 2:27.70; and placed fourth in the 1,650 freestyle with a time of 19:19.40.
