GlobalPost.com, a website specializing in daily international news, made its online debut this week. The site is the brainchild of Bolton Road resident Charles M. Sennott and collaborators who, in their mission statement, describe the purpose of the site as one of providing “broad coverage throughout the world and especially of those geographic areas that have been historically under-reported by the American news media.” The founders say they are “committed to reporting on world issues and events that are important to the national dialogue and to improving the conversation of our democracy in an increasingly interconnected world.”
Sennott, who is himself an award-winning journalist and author with a distinguished career in international reporting for both print and broadcast news organizations, is the executive editor and vice president of GlobalPost.
