I would like to thank the voters of the Middlesex and Worcester District for electing me as their next state senator. We ran a strong grassroots campaign focused on issues important to the voters, and I’m proud of our victory on Election Day. I would also like to commend my Republican opponent, Steven Levy, for stepping up to run for legislative office.
Given my roots in the senate district, it will be an honor to carry on the legacy of my first political mentor, former state Senator Bob Durand, and to continue the progress that my friend and current state senator, Pam Resor, has brought to the district.
It is clear that this upcoming legislative session will be full of challenges, which I am eager to take on. While my main focus will be continuing my track record of increasing local aid, expanding jobs, protecting the environment, improving public safety, and investing in infrastructure, there are great opportunities for real reform ahead of us, too. It is clear that there needs to be more transparency and accountability on Beacon Hill, and we need ethics reform to improve the people’s faith in our government. I am committed to continuing to work on this as your next state senator.
